WayFM Rant

anotherguy said:
I found out what happened with WAY's translator in Dyersburg that is moving to 99.3. According to Radio-locator it will now be a translator for WQAK 105.7 in Union City. (Another unnecessary Thunderbolt translator Firepoint.) I'm disappointed that they've sold but I'm not surprised. A couple of months back I caught them on in Dyersburg for what was probably the last time before changing to 99.3. From what I was able to find out they have to be on by Aug. 1st. So WAY is pretty much out of West TN except for right along the Tennessee River if you can get them from Clarksville or New Johnsonville. I still love WAY-FM, but I'm disappointed in them leaving. :-X
Is this in addition to the translator that "the Quake" already has, or what? I know that they already have one there at, I believe, 107.9. If anyone is trying to locate a translator at 99.3, even in Dyer County, that should raise red flags with Terry Hailey!

Hailey should be absolutely livid about this translator at 99.3! Granted, KF-99 is primarily programming for the UC-Martin-Fulton triangle, but this translator reaches to almost Hornbeak!

I'm guessing that Tinkle is trying to compete (directly!) with SL-100 by taking the Quake right into Dyer County, but with two different signals on the same frequency, this won't be doing the listeners in that area any favors, either!

Back to the original topic. Translator W210CD at 89.9 in Henderson, TN license to cover was granted by the FCC on 08/16/2012. There should be no reason why its not on.

If it's not I would write them to try and get an answer.

That's actually Hendersonville, which is in the Nashville area. You had my hopes up for a minute since Henderson is in the Jackson area. :D
