Wayne Leatherwood

Do any of you remember this gentleman, who was on the air in the Birmingham area in the middle 1960's - c. 1966? If so, please tell me as much as you can about him. Thanks.

I don't know who that is, but boy am I going to add that to my repertoire of pseudonyms. :D

Heh-heh! Which one? Leatherwood or Witchlover®? Come to think of it, Nate, I'm not sure if that was his working name or his given name. I have always thought, though, it is his working name. I was introduced to Wayne when I was all of 9 years old. He was seeing a lady who was a lifelong friend of my mother's. Since it was my birthday, Wayne brought around this huge old "portable" reel to reel machine and interviewed me. The tape wound up being played on his program. It's a neat memory, and probably what got me into radio for a few years when I allegedly became an adult a dozen years later. I have always thought about the man, and of the effect that small, playful gesture had on my life. Hopefully, someone will recognize the man and be able to tell me about him. Thanks for getting me to think a little deeper into this. Maybe a little bit more of the story will help jog someone's memory.
