Yes....Wayne "No Offense" was fired Friday afternoon (May 5)... 
...Kimmer did mention it briefly on the air saying that Wayne was no longer with the show, and that even though he was very unhappy about it, he had to be a professional, and get through the show. Very sad state of affairs..... :'(

Very sad state of affairs..... :'(Wow, the only question is WHY? I havent liked kimmer's show since the news line was dropped,but geez will cc have anyone to run these stations if they keep this up? Is it ratings related? I do however believe that Kimmer's bit has gone dry along time ago. This could be something good, IF GST does something that will have an impact.
If Randy Dandy Bloomquist wants the Kimmer out, why not just fire him? In 5 months Randy has gotten rid of Wayne, Snake Davis, and Jim Gossett. I know there's a lot of animosity out there for the Kimmer and The King, but look at what they have to deal with. Replacing both of them won't change the fortunes of the station. It's the incompetent management. We saw the damage that Tim Dukes did to the CC/Atlanta cluster and that seems to be continuing with Jerry Del Core and Randy Bloomquist. At least Wayne has the real estate gig going on. Probably making more money. ??? ??? ??? ???

You're absolutely right about WGST being a laughing stock within CC. Former program directors Ken Charles, Tom Parker and Bruce Collins are doing great things at other Clear Channel talk stations. Meanwhile Randall Bloomquist, and abject failure at every job he has held, has taken WGST to all time lows in a matter of months.It must be a real challenge for Marc Chase to find people dumber than he is, but I think he's finally succeeded.

By his responses it is clear that he works for others and is not free to express his true feelings. When you are in radio working for others you can not always express your true feelings over the air . . . DA . . .So why the hatred twoards The Kimmer? Are you the fellow that had that altercation with him a while back?
That sucks. I was more sad seeing Pete let go, but I don't see how this firing will help their ratings (unless it was for another reason).
Not only is Wayne gone, but kimmershow.com is virtually useless. All the download, charity, ect. links are gone. Kimmer may not be far behind, sorry to say. I'm not sure were the anomosity on this site for the Kimmer comes from. I find him highly entertaining on my ride home. I listen to Rush for 3 hours a day, so there's really no need for Hannity on my ride home.Too bad for the Kimmer. They're just dismantaling his show one by one. :'(
WGST is doomed. Why hasn't this station decided to stop trying to compete with a 50,000 watt powerhouse like WSB? GST can only hope for someone with cash to buy them out and try something different. I spoken with many others who say the same thing Im saying, Its like this is a dead spot on the dial. But Im sure that its just a matter of programming. It would be better suited as a religious stationlike 1010 am. Poor signal in many parts of atlanta, plus alot of atlantans will tell you when you really need information on weather, traffic, this is not the place to go to. Goodbye to a longtime icon, It will happen !
We can all agree that the Kimmer is arguably the most unlistenable show on Atlanta radio. There is absolutely nothing entertaining about it, nor has there been for a decade. But it's not fair to Peterson to accuse him of "not going to bat for his staff". You simply don't know if that's true. He may have fought and argued with management vigorously, for all we know. But at the end of the day there's very little he could do if CC wanted to fire those people. He still has to go on the air if they want him to or he can be sued for breach of contract, and he's not going to do something that would jeopardize his making a living...neither would any of you if you were in his position. Obviously that station needs to be blown up and started from scratch. They can't be making any money over there, the shows are horrible, and the numbers are pathetic. What could possibly be taking them so long?
"Broomquist" is doing it the Cheap Channel way. "If can piss Kimmer off by firing all of his support staff and he quits, I won't have to buy him out of his contract." Yeah, save the company a couple of grand while losing half you core audience in one book. I wonder how much that will cost in the long run?

Again...we are blaming the WRONG person! It's not Randall's fault, he's just doing what he's told to do by MARC CHASE! Marc is brilliant, cause he doesn't get the blame for his horrible decision making EVER. He continues to dodge the proverbial "Radio Bullet!" Took him 3 tries before someone else made the "VIVA" decision. Anyone remember Mix, Max, or Real? He hired Dick and Justice...who? He DIDN'T want the Regular Guys back. It was his move to call WGST, "BRAVES RADIO 640 GST!" AND...to simulcast the Braves on GST. Let me see...I can listen to the Braves on crystal clear FM, or switch over to GST! Hmm? He's had PLENTY of time to make something good happen at GST, he just doesn't know what he's doing. So he hires another PD to take the hit for him. Randall will be fired, and Chase will say, "Hey, I gave the guy the chance to succeed, but he just couldn't get the job done!"How this guy has lasted this long will forever baffle me...

Don't forget Gene and Julie, MJ in the Morning, Furrell, Wild, Cool, changing Peach to Lite, Tim Dukes, Bob and Tom, dumping Glenn Beck, losing two thirds of the audience on 96 Rock.. what am I leaving out? How Chase has lasted so long is right. He must have the same embarrasing photos of Hogan that keep Tom Hughes on the payroll.As moronic as Marc Chase may be, I still wouldn't let Randall off the hook. Unlike his predecessors who have done well before and after their tenures at WGST, Bloomquist has failed at every previous programming job he has ever held.
