WAYNE NO OFFENSE......?

I WAS JUST LISTENING TO THE OLDIES STATION, WHICH IM STARTING TO REALLY LIKE ALOT MORE AND MORE....... BUT ONE LOCAL DJ IS NOT ENOUGH......AL HARDY WOULD BE GOOD AND SO WOULD KEVIN OBRIEN? WELL I THOUGHT I HEARD WAYNE "NO OFFENSE" TODAY ON THERE, HE WASNT A DJ, WASNT DOING TRAFFIC BUT IM NOT SURE?

Wayne is not a dj. He will be doing pit stops with the True Oldies Van for remotes and promoting 106.7 in the field. He also runs the board for the Imus show. I've done it and so has Rob. I'd love to be spinning the tunes on 106.7 It's the music I grew up with and love the stuff. Also I'm a big fan of MOYL! 8)

LMAO, all this time I thought, Rob Lee =amlover, but I guess I was wrong. I think was way wrong, but anyways....... yes country gold is awesome. Im 28 and love all the classics.....maybe you should get the nod to do some DJ, then I would definaately listen you more. I think I just put 1 and 2 together lol

WYAY-True Oldies 106.7

Any news of Spiff Carner (of Randy and Spiff) coming to True Oldies 106.7 WYAY? I know on his "Spiff Happens" blog, he has been saying that he is in contact with True Oldies 106.7 about a job. Maybe, they will drop Don Imus before long. Could Spiff`s former partner Randy Cook get out of his gig at WGST? It would be cool for Randy and Spiff to take the airwaves together again on True Oldies 106.7-WYAY. By the way, a little birdie told me that John Curren (formerly of Oldies Lake 102.3) may also be in the running for a gig on True Oldies 106.7. Has anyone else heard about this? I still think that Bob Bailey would also be a great fit for True Oldies 106.7.

Randy is currently "under contract" to Clear Channel so if (excuse me, WHEN) Spiff gets his next radio gig it will probably be something of a solo.

Does anyone know how Wayne got the nickname "no offense"?

If I remember correctly, Wayne brought an aquaintance to the station who happened to be of oriental descent. His name was "Wang" or something like that. When he was introduced to the Kimmer, Wayne said something like, "This is Wang - no offense" playing on the double entendre...

Kimmer thought it was hilarious and the catch phrase became his nickname.

The nickname came from one of Kimmer's favorite movies, Caddyshack - here is the clip that shows where it came from:

He was one of the ones that was let go on Feb 29,he was doing production and part time on air stuff. When everything went down he had just been named producer for Rhubarb and Dallas.

Citadel wants to run things CHEAPLY so don't expect IMUS or any local jocks on the station with the exception of afternoon drive and, frankly, how they pulled that off in the wake of their stock price under a dollar a share is amazing to me.
