Waynesburg CP

Anyone know the status of the WANB (or whatever their call letters are) CP for 5KW on 1210 with critical hours? It expires next year, so I'm curious if they plan to go ahead with the move or not.

I can't speak for Bob (the owner of the stations), but right now the real focus is getting the FM on the air from Mt. Pleasant. After that, to the best of my knowledge, 1210 will be dealt with.

Yes, it is WANB, currently on 1580 with a CP for 5KW on 1210. And yes I am in the process of moving WANB to 1210.
WANB should be operating on 1210 by January or February, along with its FM "fill in" translator on 105.1, which is already on the air, but currently operating with low power under regular translator rules, as we await the delivery of a
directional antenna, as well as the delivery of the 6KW AM transmitter for 1210.

Also, yes again, I am spending a lot of time on 103.1, preparing for the Mount Pleasant (Westmoreland) B1 Sign on.
103.1 is almost ready to begin broadcasting under the construction permit, but I still have to decide what format,
load music, do format clocks, etc., and answer other critical questions such as what audio processor will be used to
ensure the type of competitive sound that will be necessary for 103.1.

Hope that answers your curiosity.

Coming in loud and clear in the South Hills. They even manage to cut through the edge
of the IBOC buzz from 1250.

I was driving south on Rt 7 from Steubenville to Shadyside. 1210 was coming in loud and clear! I was on the road around 1pm.

I got it with some static, but I did get it in Saxonburg on the way to taking my daughter to daycare. It was 8:30 yesterday morning when I heard the jock do an ID and promoting news coming up at 9am (none at 8:30 in morning drive? Interesting...). That's not bad considering the fact that you've got WKST in New Castle blowing in loud and clear just one click down the dial.

I picked them up this afternoon in the North Hills....rather weak but still listenable. However, during critical hours the Philly station was all over them.

1210 Waynesburg is required to run lower power during critical hours. A double whammy with 50,000 watts in Philadelphia
just across the state, but it's still better than 1580 was.

I think ANYTHING's better than 1580. That barely got outside the county, as I recall. And Greene County is not that big.

what's up with 103.1 in Waynesburg. been dark for 2 days...(also dark at 1210 am and the other two fm dial spots they have been broadcasting on for the past several months ..104.1 and 105.1. did they go out of business or someting?
