WAYV vs. WFPG signal

Anyone know why WFPG-FM makes it up to the Asbury toll plaza on the Parkway, yet WAYV dies off around Exit 91?

Both are 50Kw and both are about the same height.

How does WPUR compare ? Or WZBZ ?

Hi, Jersey,

WAYV is a directional station with a pattern like a squared off oval; WFPG is non directional. This from Bob Carpenter's TVFMSTNS FCC database viewer.

Because WAYV has a nearby short-spaced class B cochannel (WZZO). WFPG does not.

Both have inferior signals to WFPG and WAYV, which are both Class B's (althoug both with short sticks). WPUR is a B1 with 13.5kw at 450 ft. WZBA is a Class a with 3kw @ 328 ft.

Yeah, I know what they are, I am Chief Engineer of
WFPG, WPUR and WZBZ. I built WPUR from the ground up,
and took 99.3 from 88 meters to 100 meters with
a tower extension which is an ERI Lambda section.

I was just wondering what JerseyShor thought.

Remember that power isn't as important as
a relatively clear frequency and height.
