WAZL Has Been Sold

$115K WAZL-AM Wilkes-Barre/Scranton PA (Hazleton PA) from Panorama PA Inc. (Alexander Sloot) to WAZL Partners LLP (Glenn Summers, Roy Miller et al). $10K earnest money, balance in cash at closing. LMA 4/1/11. [FCC file date 4/25/11]

What's with this 'Wilkes-Barre/Scranton' imaging stuff? WAZL hasn't even shown up in three of the last four Wilkes-Barre/Scranton surveys.

Hazleton and WAZL are at the other end of the county. The AMs don't even hit Wilkes-Barre with any impact, let alone touch Scranton (which is in yet another county, further away).

The only somewhat legitimate 'Hazleton' association here is WBSX, but it needs its tower within boom-car distance from Wilkes-Barre -- pretty far from its city of license -- to make the association work.
