WAZX (AM1550) Back On The Air

After years of silence and speculation that Mexicans had scrapped out the transmitter, WAZX returns to the air playing classic oldies non-stop.
Pretty good signal into NE Atlanta, no distortion or frequency drift. Maybe they are demo-ing it to a prospective buyer.

There was a sale agreement on the FCC web site:

https://licensing.fcc.gov/cdbs/CDBS...?appn=101606389&qnum=5040&copynum=1&exhcnum=1

I don't know if the deal fell is off or what, or this is just a test. There was a resumption letter sent to the FCC Sept 3 2013:

https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/w...xt=25&appn=101572286&formid=910&fac_num=22983

I assume they have been on since then. With the reduced hours at full power due to winter maybe you just missed them till now. With a FCC field office in Atlanta, it would be hard to say you are on the air and not really be.

Actually, I heard them 2 weeks ago (on a Sunday aftenoon) but they haven't been on during the week.
They could have been on low power (16 Watts) and I doubt I would hear them.
I've never heard on Intelli LLC. Hope they can do something with them.

Sounds Like The Sale Went Thru

They are now the Vietnamese voice of Atlanta. More narrow-casting in Atlanta.
Hope they can sell spots in this depressed economy. I wish them well.
