WB 20 WTXX & The Mets

First off I am not a Mets fan but I do like to see them when Pedro is pitching as he was on the Red Sox. Well getting to the point why doesn't WB 20 air all the NY Mets games that WB 11 WPIX airs? I get both WPIX and WTXX so I know when WB 11 is airing a Mets game. So why is this, thanks.

It's the contract that the Mets have with WTXX, and the rules that MLB has also play a part but it's mainly the contract.

I don't think the Mets have a very big following in CT (compared to the Yanks and Sox) so it's probably not very profitable for WTXX to carry every single game that airs on WPIX. I have to admit I'm surprised any CT station would air those WPIX games.

I thought that the Hartford/New Haven/Waterbury market was far enough away from Boston that a local station, if it wished, could carry the entire schedule of Mets' games seen on WPIX-11 New York (or Yankees' games seen on WWOR-9).

I suspect the reason WTXX-20 doesn't carry all of WPIX's Mets' telecasts is due to a local decision by WTXX, and not a decision by the Mets or any Major League Baseball policy.

I would assume that WTXX could show all of the WPIX Mets games, considering that WCTX shows all of the WWOR Yankees games.

But the difference is, WPIX *IS* the primary affiliate for the Mets.
YES Network is the primary affiliate for the Yankees.
WWOR just has contract rights to air 24 games from YES using their own announcers and graphics.
