WB17's LAST LOCAL NEWSCAST

There were no goodbyes from the on-air talent on their final Channel 17 Studio local newscast. After the credits rolled there was a TV promo with NBC10's Vince Dementri regarding the new WB17 News powered by NBC10. That's All Folks.

Yeah, I thought that was kind of strange too. It seemed like any other ordinary newscast. I guess they were told not to say anything. I also thought that it was strange that on their final newscast, both the sports anchor and the regular weatherguy were not there.

It's a shame. I thought they did a pretty good newscast.

What about this weekend?

Will there be any WB 17 News newscasts this weekend?
According to the schedule on the WB 17 website there are Saturday and Sunday editions scheduled. Anyone know the real answer?

Laura Nachman wrote in an article dated yesterday that "NBC10 takes over production of the WB17 news after tonight's broadcast."

Re: What about this weekend?

I believe this will be the first WB17 NBC10 run newscast with Lauren Cohn, Amy Freeze, and John Clark.

Re: What about this weekend?

NBC10 has taken over Saturday night with an NBC10 powered WB17 Newscast with the NBC10 weekend news team. The newscast is presented as a watered down NBC10 Newscast. They use the WB17 News theme for intro's and show closing. WB17 gets a cheap subcontracted quality newscast, and NBC10 gets a new source of revenue.
Edited by trolleyk on 12/11/05 03:42 AM.
