WBAI applies to go commercial

BAI could cash-in by selling 99.5's 4500 watts at ESB and buying 103.9's 980 watts on Gun Hill Road. QXR went from 6000 watts at 96.3 to 610 at 105.9 on ESB. They lost coverage, but still have listeners many using other sources to hear the station. If BAI can't find another frequency, they could be Internet-only.
Consensus is that they have outlived their usefulness.

At this point I don't think that would be a good move for Nash. They are a new station trying to build an audience on a frequency most people are not familiar with. It just wouldn't make sense for them to suddenly move to yet another frequency most people are not familiar with. It's too confusing for the average listener and you would have country fans thinking they have been abandoned again. I think Nash has to stay the course on 94.7 for at least a few years.
 
They could promote the change for a couple weeks before actually doing it.
One would fade from here to there and the other would do the inverse.
