WBAI for sale?

Are they on the block or am I completely misinformed?

What is the point of an asinine post such as this?

I know two people who work there, and I have heard nothing about this, although there are allways those who would love to turn that frequency into another junkyard outlet.

If I may, I'd ask that this board not be discredited by spreading stupid rumors.

I guess with such a valuable position on the dial, the rumors will always persist, even if they are unsubstantiated. But I don't see Pacifica selling anytime soon, much to the chagrin of large media conglomerates who would *love* a piece of 99.5.

I love the fact that New York has a non commercial station right in the middle of the dial.
It's nice not to have another cookie cutter format on our dial. WBAI works just fine for me!

Dude... Take it easy and play nice.

I'm just asking because I heard they're shopping the station, and though my source is usually reliable, I just can't believe Pacifica would sell WBAI.

Ahh....dude...like...if you can't offer a credible soursce....you're..like..blowing smoke up our backsides....dig? Groovy.

As the consulting engineer for Pacifica, let me assure you that while we get offers from time to time (mostly for KPFA in Berkeley) WBAI is not for sale, and never will be.
That is the word from the Board of Directors and the management.
