WBAI short on funds

nd2023

Banned
I was at the Occupy Wall Street protest and saw someone collecting money for WBAI. He said that the station is in danger of shutting down if it doesn't get enough money to survive. I made the suggestion that perhaps it would be a good idea for them to trade 99.5 for an AM or HD2 station, and then he argued with me that it is fine right where it is and I am dumb for even thinking of that. And he accused me of being in the "1%".

In case you're wondering I didn't give him any money. I noticed his bucket had only a few dollar bills and coins in it.

Maybe now that the world didn't end and Wall Street is occupied, WBAI will pass WFME in the ratings.

Actually a high powered AM would not be a bad spot for their talk programs. Such a trade would fund the station for many years to come as well as multiplying their reach many times over. Can you imagine 'BAI on 660, 710, 770, or 880?

He turned into all biscuit after Ariel left and Channel 2 started staying on all night.

Well let's take a look at the genius... -ahem- ... of WBAI. They go to fund raise from a bunch of neo-hippies in tents camped out in a park. Isn't the whole reason they're there is lack of jobs and the funds that one creates? Seriously, how stupid can it get? What's next, WBAI starts trying to collect from the homeless?!

I'm sure the $13 he collected will pay that lease on Empire this month.

The header should read "WBAI is short on BRAINS"
WBAI should stand for "We Boys Are Idiots"

Even a liberal like myself wishes WBAI would just go away....the programming is awful, and the ratings even worse. Trade it to CBS for 1010 and put WINS on FM..

The only bigger waste of RF is WFME - if I won the lotto I would pay whatever price to get that license away from the fruitcakes currently running it.

1. We already had that for awhile; it was called "WEVD."

2. I can only imagine 'BAI on 620, or even 1430, at this point.

@Nick: We need video of your exchange with that "fundraiser"!
