WBAP DOES "GET IT"

The public always moves to the new gadget. So what any of you think about the quality of HD is not material. HD is the new gadget. It wins by default.

You know - you are right. I can type this in on my PC Jr., go record with my Betamax, listen to WBAP on my AM stereo radio, scan some barcodes with my Cue Cat.

I've talked at length about HD on the HD board. The proponents of this technology are very sensitive to any perceived criticism. War of Attrition's first comment came out of left field to me because I never considered the first comment to be a back-handed slap at HD radio. (even though it apparently was)

I agree with Robert's comments that radio stations should concern themselves more with providing good programming. HD may become a standard, but the jury is still out. So far the folks promoting it have done a horrible job getting the public to buy the radios. Until the price comes way down or the programming gets a lot better, HD radio will be a technology used primarily by folks in the business.
