WBBM AM IBOC OFF LAST NIGHT -- WHAT DID YOU HEAR?

WBBM AM 780 temporarily shut off their IBOC emissions last night. Did you do any listening on adjacent channels and what did you hear? I picked up WABC solid on 770 and a sports station on 790 with a variable signal. Wondering if it might have been CIGM? I did not stick around to wait for the TOH ID.

Oh good! Maybe WBBM will be better in Houston at night if they shut the IBOC power vampire down.

Did you happen to catch which sports affiliate it was on 790? CIGM is long gone, isn't it?

Their IBOC is still off as I type this (11am). 790 was WSGW in the clear right now. 770 has something very faint, but I'm unable to determine who it is. The faint 770 signal seems stronger to the west on the BOGs, so maybe KUOM.

Unfortunately I did not listen long enough to hear a station ID on 790, but it was definitely a sports format. Any guesses who it would have been in Chicago late at night last night?

And yes, HD AM is worthless but CBS insists on torturing all of us with it!

WKRD/Louisville,KY is on 790 and runs sports 24/7.

WKRD would be a good bet but I looked them up on the FCC site and they are not sending much juice our direction at night. Another possibility is WSGW. They have a lobe that somewhat favors the Chicago area. But their program schedule shows George Noooooooooooory should be on during the time I would have been listening. So, I don't know; it remains a mystery. I will listen again tonight if the interference is still gone.

I listened again last night. I couldn't hear anything on 790 until after midnight, but then I started picking up a sports station again. Heard a positive ID as Fox Sports Radio, which is what WKRD carries, and several mentions of Kentucky. So despite their low nighttime power and pattern favoring other directions, I am pretty sure that is who I am hearing.
