WBBM Newsradio 780

The doom-and-gloom radio station of the Midwest, WBBM "Newsradio" 780, outdid itself late last week (Thursday, I believe). In its attempt to scrape the bottom of the barrel and report something -- anything! -- negative, they intoned all afternoon, "...the Midwest has the second highest unemployment rate in the country". They couldn't find enough doom-and-gloom that was Chicago-specific? At least winter is drawing to a close and they won't be able to turn a snowflake into a blizzard much longer.

Hmmm, I wonder if they'll lose their number one rating with things getting cheerier? :D :D
