WBCB in Levittown had been simulcasting on 1350 WHWH and I've been catching the overnight show and it's the only place where you hear Rock that Nick the Night Driver plays on an AM station. A throw-back to an earlier time, yet fresh.

DToTheJ said:What didn't make sense to me was that the person who was the voice of "Ted" was himself not named Ted... then again, Howard Cogan can argue that he didn't need to change his name to "Jack"...

You are building new studio's for WHWH in Bensalem? I didn't know a listenable grade WHWH signal even reaches Bensalem.

I am not sure of the rules, but ISTR that they are rather convoluted. For example. if WHWH is considered to be in the Trenton market, then any location that is OK for AMs in that market should be OK for WHWH. And IIRC, the rules for AMs are based on the combined 5 mV/m daytime contours of all AMs in the market. That is, any location touched by even one of those 5 mV/m contours is OK for any AM in the market. Indeed, the rules may be even more lenient than that. IIRC, there is something in the rule about 25 miles beyond that combined 5 mV/m daytime contour. I remember joking that, since WFAN's 5 mV/m covers New London CT, AMs in the New York market COULD have studios in New London, which, by car, is about 125 miles from Manhattan.

Yes.. and Dan its not based on any AM station or market its actually Any station thats licensed to in the same City of License. Princeton has 3 stations WWPH ,WPRB and WHWH
In this case Bensalem is in the contour of WPRB.
WHWH day signal also covers Bensalem.
For awhile I could not Hear WHWH in front of the New studios because an adjacent channel station
which I will not mention, had a Minimum city grade signal. where it should not even Be heard.
That was due to an equipment failure. and they should have it fixed in the spring.
Sam Lit said:Well, then the question needs to be asked, why would WHWH build a studio in Bensalem?
Prior to WHWH moving iinto the WBCB simulcast. Radio T.E.D. was running from my basement studio. and still DoesDanStrassberg said:Sam Lit said:Well, then the question needs to be asked, why would WHWH build a studio in Bensalem?
Does the owner have other stations with studios at that location? If so, the economies of scale should be self-evident.
