WBCN dj Mark Parenteau passes away

WBCN was the best radio station ever. I still got a WBCN bumper sticker on my bedroom wall at home, probably been there for 40 plus years. I loved Mark, he was one of the funniest people I've ever heard. One day he put on a record, one of those big 12" 45 rpm singles and started it on 33 by mistake, he stopped the record and went on this big long spiel about how you couldn't tell the difference nowadays, wrong size records etc etc. bla, bla, bla, he then put the record back on...on the same wrong speed! I almost died it was so funny He just stopped it and put it on the right speed and didn't say a word, haha! I never forget it. I listened to him every day for years without fail. When BCN finally went off the air it was a very sad day for me, like I had lost a best friend or something even though I hadn't listened to it all that much for a while. WBCN, Mark, Charles and all others too numerous to name from that station will always be a part of me. I'm living out of the country right now but hope to see that documentary they recently put together about it.
