WBCN/WZLX

Is it just me or has Mark Hannon sucked the life out of both WBCN and WZLX since Tony B. left? WZLX didn't have that far to fall, but WBCN really used to stand for something in Boston. I like O&A, but I just have to shake my head and wonder why the station sounds more like KMOO in Cowpoke, IOWA than a Boston station.

Mark Hannon and Tony Berardini are cut from the same cloth. The only thing about Hannon is that he is more "corporate" - Tony liked to get down and run with the common folk. But both of them are too busy answering to shareholders to let their instincts get involved.Just as Jerry Charm and Tony Berardini's positions became obsolete, Mark Hannon will be replaced by the next young executive climbing up the ladder. It is less about radio and more about serving "the greater good", meaning, those who purchase big chunks of CBS Radio stock.Hannon is doing the "beau raines" gig, it appears, tread water, collect the paycheck, do not allow for independent thought. Their idea of independent thought brought us...David Lee Roth.
