WBCN's M. Parenteau

I referenced only a first initial in the subject line because of what I saw on facebook while
searching for pages relating to WBCN. On several of them, there are quotes from "Marlin"
Parenteau, not Mark. From the pictures, it's obvious that it is indeed the (in)famous Mr.
Parenteau of WBCN fame. I wonder what's behind the name change?

Mark has his own FaceBook page, I don't know why he would be hiding behind an alias when he is posting under his own name on another (unlike me who has a FB page under a pseudonym)

If you put Mark Parenteau into the facebook search box, it returns several people with that name, none of whom
appear to be the former Boston DJ. Below that are several posts that all have "Marlin" as his first name. There's also
a link to a forthcoming "official" website: http://markparenteau.com/

Facebook recently changed the software so you can stay hidden from public view. This was because of Googles plan to archive and make available all users content.

I had Mark and Charles, among others as "friends" but I deleted them when I was getting flooded with posts around the time of the BCN demise.

Mark keeps a low profile these days

I can't say "lick me" anymore because it reminds me of this creep.

He was a great DJ, gave me many laughs during the 70's and 80's on WBCN, he's done his time, give him some slack. He was one of the best. I still remember some of his lines from his show.

Given his proclivities, perhaps his web developer would want to reconsider the background noise on his site.

That's a catchy little tune. I am going to put that on my ipod and work out to it. ;D

As BCN's heritage was paraded during its final farewell, any and all mentions of Mark P were conspicuously absent. It was right around then that I heard that Mark's Facebook profile was removed at the request of CBS.

FWIW: It seems that Parenteau's profile using the name Marlin is no longer on facebook.

I have tapes of BCN's 15th birthday party...Charles, Capt. Ken, Mark and the rest were a hoot...I think Charles was loaded when he appearded on Mark's show later that day...great fun...so sorry to see the demise.

Loaded usually implies alcohol consumption.

The 15th anniversary of WBCN would have been in the bolivian marching powder, and other fine recreational substance days of radio.

I doubt very much he was "loaded"

I was running the board at a local college station back in the late 70's when Charles came for a appearance of some sort, Nancy Quill now of WMJX was one of the people who was doing the interview. A couple of years ago when Charles was in town and on Sam Kopper's friday night WATD show, I got to talk to him and he came right out and said he remembered being there, but nothing about the night, because he was probably in an altered state.
