WBDG 90.9 Indianapolis Turns 40 today (and)

Well, looks like WBDG is celebrating by playing All Dance music today. As you know, WBDG plays Dance Every Single Night, between 8.00 PM, to 4.00 AM, but today it looks like an all Day thing, their even taking Requests for Dance Songs, which is unusual, their usually automated. Wouldnt it be great if WBDG went Full Time 24/7 Dance,,,, I kinda Doubt they Blow Up their DAY TIME, Variety Hot ac format though.

No, but they have a website, that lists their Scheduled Programs www.wayne.k12.in.us/wbdg/ Click on (student shows), its listed as the GIANT MIX under overnights... BTW, some nights, the Dance goes till 6.am, and the Dance doesnt start on Sundays untill 11.pm, due to the All Day Rero Show. Also Click on the (Past to Present) link for an interesting story of their history, they used to be PURE DISCO as DISCO 91 back in the late 70s.

Congrats to them.
I remember when this station was doing Top 40 as B-91 at some point in the 90s. As you know, Indiana has quite a few cool and quirky sounding College/non-commercial stations that focus on CHR radio (sure beats all those annoying Christian Contemporary stations).

If I'm not mistaken, WBDG can only be heard in parts of the western portions of Indianapolis.

Actually WBDG has 400 Watts at 79 feet. It actually can be heard 30 miles away in most directions, except for a small portion of East Indy, Where their is another School Chr, on 91.1,,, And we also have 89.3 WJEL for CHR, as well as 91.5- THE FLASH,, We used to have a 91.3 doing Chr in the Carmel Area, but I think its some form of Rock now.
 
WBDG is indeed a variety station. Mostly CHR/Dance, though. Dance plays nightly 8 p.m.-4 a.m. during the summer months.CHR fills the rest of the time with a "Retro" Sunday format.
