WBDG Indianapolis-Now Pure Dance..Energy 91

Yep, we got another 79 watt flame thrower midwestern Dance Station. It comes from Ben Davis High School. Their slogan is Pure Dance Energy 91, but they still air a few hours of student programs during the early morning, but is pumping out the Dance hits by Noon on through the day and night. It comes from Ben Davis High School, the biggest High School in Indiana. SO if you count Orbital 93.1 HD-2, Indy has 2 Dance stations, yet New York cant even get just one.

I wish my old high school's radio station played dance music instead of going off the air after school. I tried my best...
High school stations like Energy 91, C89.5, and Super 91.7 can afford to go pure dance. They don't have much in the way of programming after school, and they want to get popular with the kids that go to the high school. The DJs are unpaid, the teacher and the equipment is paid by the school district, so they don't need to seek advertisers.

What is with you? So what if its a high school station! Does it really matter if its on a commercial station or not. Get a clue

Brett, I could not agree with you more! SOMETHING on the dial...no matter who runs it, is better than NOTHING AT ALL.

I agree with Brett and Tony, At least I can here the 4x4 beat on the fm dial now, even though I have to struggle to pick up the signal, at least its there.

I guess it's just me, it all seems like small potatoes, grasping at straws, as they say, if you just want to hear the music, you can go to PerfectBeat and buy a bunch of cds

Seattle has a huge fan base and they are a monitored station on Mediabase and BDS. WMPH has a great following as well. My statiion is monitored by Mediaguide/yes.com. Don't knock the non-coms. People are starting to find the left hand side of the dial.

They play some forgotten 90s dance on here too. They played Its gonna be a lovely day from the 90s ealier. I had forgotten all about that.

Hey why don't you ask them to join the board and get them involved. Ask them to provide their info so people will get them some music. KNHC has been doing Dance for more years than I can remember. Two of the previous programmers now run KUBE and KIIS. The current programmer has been there for ... a while and the station reports to bds and mediabase and sells records. Oh yeah they also raise over 150,000.00 each year for the school in donations. Ya never know

That Pure Dance Energy 91 is a really good idea, but it's not accurate. WBDG is still Giant 90.9 and will be for the forseeable future. We do maintain our commitment to playing the most dance, techno, and electronic music in the city each week.

WBDG is Giant 90.9.

Giant Mix times
8 p.m.-4 a.m. on Saturday, Sunday
9 p.m.-4 a.m. on Monday-Friday

Also, we are 400 Watts and not 79. Our tower is 78 feet tall, so I don't know if that's where you got that number or not.

I never hear an I.D when I listen, which is always at night. I did hear the other night, I think Friday at around 7, they werent playing Dance and I couldnt figure out why. I swear I heard an Energy or Pure Energy sweeper, something like that.

I passed through Indianapolis and listened to Giant 90.9, it sounded really great! Keep it up!
I also heard Ida Corr - Let Me Think About It on Radio Now 100.9

I agree. The most interesting & creative stations are on the left side of the dial where College, Variety, & independent stations mostly are.
