WBEN levels

What's up with the levels at WBEN? One audio is super loud, the next is super low; very annoying. Does anyone run the board anymore? No compression?

I have noticed WBEN sounding raspy in my car, and imagining whether the RF envelope was flat topping or the cause was elsewhere.
 
I've noticed it too, in my car and at home. It's annoying as hell. And, it's all over the place, spots, network feeds, interview guests, even co hosts. When Mike Caputo was on with Kristi M--sorry can't spell her name-- the other day, their levels were way off and I presume they were sitting in the same studio. What's up? It sounds worse than pirate radio.
 
But at least some of their low end is back. For a couple years, the signal seemed completely devoid of any bass response.
