WBEN's on-air studio trashed

Once again we had to listen to almost 10 minutes of Tom Bauerle whining and complaining about the "people in here on the weekend" trashing the on-air studio at 500 Corporate Parkway for WBEN 930 AM.

Today he rambled on about screws on the floor and in the past it's been issues with chairs being broken, microphones getting goofed up, headphones being torn apart and in one case stolen.

He specifically said today "it happens sometime between when Sandy leaves Fridays at 6pm and when Randy Bushover comes in on Sunday morning."

So we're looking at overnight Friday and the programming all day Saturday.

Who is doing this? It's obviously bothering Tom and it's tough on us listeners having to listen to Tom go off on it every few weeks on a cranky Monday morning.

The Financial Guys? The guy from the home improvement show? The gardening expert? Kathy from Williamsville? The wine show guy and his drinking buddies? Peter Hunt and his rowdy real estate agents?

Who am I missing from the suspect list?

What do Wenger and Reid think about this? Are there no cameras in the on-air studio area that could be used to record the demolition process?

First of all, there are no wine show guys. That's been off WBEN for quite a while. Secondly, tell Bauerle to buy his own damn headphones, and put them in his desk when he's done with his shift. That's what everybody else in broadcasting does. I don't want anybody else wearing my headphones, and I don't want to wear anybody else's. And, if I had his money, I'd have my own mic as well. I'd prefer not to put my lips near his spit.

Where's Wenger in this? He's the boss. It's up to him to solve this problem. And Bauerle whining on the air is a waste of airtime. Put on the big boy pants, Tommy, get your butt into the station on a Saturday and address the people involved, or STFU and talk about ISSUES, not your cats, you ex, or the rest of your personal life.

Uh oh... you mentioned Tom's cats.

He is not going to be happy when he reads that (or Kevin Carr tells him about it.)

You are right about Kevin Lovullo and Spiel The Wine. It's apparently done. I thought he was just taking off a few weeks but I realize now it's been a few months. Too bad, I enjoyed the show when I was near a radio on Saturday nights to listen to it.

My money's on that Kathy wingnut. She probably sparks up a few blunts for show prep, then hits the ho-hos and Genny pounders hard, leaves wrappers and caps on the floor, tongues the mic and pukes in the trashcans. Tommy is just pissed because he wasn't invited to the party.

Honestly, I have no problem with a jock talking about his personal life as long as its not TOO in depth, but griping on the air about co-workers is the epitome of unprofessional.

Agree. If it's a relatable bit that might apply to employees in offices everywhere, like crowded fridges or grubby microwaves, and you could approach it with humor, there might be an point, but this isn't one of those.

Agreed Paul. I almost said something to that effect as well. It makes sense to make a sarcastic joke about it. But to bitch and moan for 10 minutes only accomplished this: People turned the channel!

I admit, i only skimmed over this but do u think
he is just making it up LOL -

about 25 years ago, (and since then) but
it was "cool" to just talk, and a shameless
way to cross promote other talents at the station
(and give it a humorous edge). . by saying yea
after I leave this place goes to hell
(and it takes a personality of sorts to do this),
...im not a neat freak, but what the heck they doin
in here in the afternoons, and then callers may comment
on their show, and if a personality of a later talent is
some what sloppy, it adds to more LIFE to the station...

unlike today: after i left, i hit a button and computer
programming took it til the 7pm hour. so obviously
the night guy left a mess... just not the same
