WBFO-NPR Listener Survey

Just took the WBFO-NPR programming survey, delivered by email. Interesting survey, regarding listening habits both over-the-air, on-line and podcasting. The questions were quite revealing as to their intent and purpose. I answered questions as a "civilian" without a "radio" pre-disposition. Intrigued that the research is driven by Jacobs Media, one of the finer media consulting firms in America with a long, successful track record in Classic Rock.

This is the 2nd round of surveys public radio stations could opt into, for research. WXXI in Rochester sent out this survey last year.

While I enjoy listening to WBFO (nainly via webcast), I do wish they could bring back more jazz programming. Years ago, they used to have more jazz during the day, from 9a-4p IIRC. And the jazz programming at night, especially after 11pm, was a real treat to listen to. Their jocks played more adventurous and creative jazz, even electric jazz/fusion on Friday nights. The music they play now is enjoyable, but it's nothing too far outside the mainstream of jazz. Just my opinion, for what it may be worth.
