WBGD License Cancelled

About time! A licensed station which is off the air is just as bad as an unlicensed station which is on the air.

The Jersey Shore Shuffle folks should apply for the now vacant allocation.

Well, this is interesting. I was thinking about WBGD when driving home to Freehold from Toms River yesterday. I was listening to WBNJ in my car and carried the signal quite well to about Farmingdale. After that, WBNJ was battling it out with another FM, although I couldn't catch an ID. WBNJ should act quickly to add WBGD's coverage area to its own protected contour and then boost power or tower height a bit.

Wow, I just signed up to this website, looking for some old radio friends (Steve Biro, Roger Foote, Frank Canale), when I saw this post.

I was one of the WBGD alumni, if you will, in 1979, under Mr. Boesch. Sad to hear, I'll have to tell my friends.

They hadn't been on the air in years and it was time for the FCC to pull the plug on them. It is difficult to complain about pirates when licensed stations disregard the law.

Yes indeed they should because there is a planned LPFM window this Spring or Summer.
