WBGX AM 1570 back on the air

WBGX AM 1570 and FM translator W240EI are back on the air as of 7/21/2026. They have been silent since 12/25/2025. The silent STA had an expiration date of 12/26/2026.

Heard WBGX with weak signal yesterday afternoon playing gospel music. No way to confirm W240EI as there are several other translators closer to me on 95.9 FM.

The Facebook post says they are no longer broadcasting on AM/FM. They are now digital ONLY. ???
 
They filed a Resumption of Operations notice with the FCC: "Brian Byrnes, Receiver ("Byrnes"), licensee of WBGX(AM), Harvey, Illinois (the "Station"), hereby notifies the Commission that the Station resumed operations on July 21, 2026."

Whats confusing? digital only aka streaming.

Its two seperate entities.

The owners of WBGX, and what looks like someone who was a DJ/management at WBGX at some point The guys fb page is easy to find

I was curious too...so i wanted to see how this guy was connected to WBGX. looks like hes done mostly internet radio and wbgx lately
