WBIH DT 29.1 Is Going Blab TV???

Let's see… There's BET, Centric and TV One on cable. Now there's Bounce and soon to be SSN over the air, all targeting African-American audiences. I can't decide if this is programmers catching up with the reality of TV watching demographics, or overkill.

This coming on the heels of Blab makes me think they'll co-exist, possibly on the same channel.

On an unrelated note, I don't wish to raise alarm with anyone, but when I tried to read about this on the Montgomery TV & Radio website, I got hit with a fraud & malware warning from my browser. Most of the links seem to be dead ends on the MTR site so I couldn't find a "Contact Us" page. I think folks from there read the forums so hopefully they can clear up whatever's wrong.

That press release for SSN mentioned affiliates in Montgomery, several other Southern capital cities, and Tallahassee. The digital sub channels on Tallahassee's full power TV stations are pretty much all occupied... except WTWC's 40.2, the former home of The Cool TV. If they are going to have a full power affiliate in Tally, that would be the only slot for SSN unless someone drops another Diginet. If SSN gets in bed with Sinclair in Tally they might as well try for carriage on Sinclair stations in Mobile and Birmingham... We know Sinclair has room for them. I guess it all depends on how much money SSN has to spend.

SSN also mentions originating news reports from all southern capital cities. WTWC doesn't have a news operation, but they used to. I assume they still have a studio and news set, probably still set up for SD operations, at the Sinclair offices in Tally. It appears Blab is gearing up to program original local infomercials for the Montgomery market, so we can assume they are building a studio somewhere in the Montgomery area or negotiating to lease space from one of the big 4 networks. That same studio could be used by SSN. Don't know much about Sinclair's setup in the Ham. I assume ABC 33/40 still has a local news set.
