WBLK's dayparting

I love WBLK, don't get me wrong. Diverse playlist (and I really mean DIVERSE), good jocks, and commitment to the community. Of course, that's why they've lasted so long! However, one issue I have is dayparting. If I wanted to the music I really want to hear, I have to wait until 3.

Why do they insist on doing this? Is it just because of the lack of a straight-forward Urban AC in the market? (Which baffles me, considering Buffalo itself is 38.6% African-American.) KPRS in Kansas City (the closest urban to me) stopped dayparting YEARS ago.

When did KPRS stop dayparting? They may not be as obvious with their dayparting of musical programming as WBLK, but KPRS still dayparts. Heck, look at WVEE in Atlanta. Their reasons of continue to daypart has more to do with the fact they are the only urban format on the FM dial in the market. As a result, they know whom tends to listen to radio at work, professionals, and most professionals do not (or cannot) listen to hip-hop all day while at work.

Its been since 2010-ish. For awhile, they played music from Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus. It was embarrassing. Fortunately, they stopped!
