WBLL 1390 Bellefontaine now has an FM repeater

Even though it doesn't reach the Columbus metro well at all, V-Teck in Bellefontaine has added an FM repeater for it's WBLL 1390 signal. The station is at 107.3 FM, and has a call sign of W297BP. Here is the radio locator's info: http://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/patg?id=W297BP-FX

I see nothing listed on their website about the addition.

I have moved this thread from the Columbus forum to the Radio in Ohio forum. This is not a Columbus station. Their signal does not cover Columbus.

Thanks for understanding.

Interesting looks like they picked it up from EMF. Which makes sense since EMF doesn't really need it with 94.1 for KLove. Interesting that the translator isn't mentioned on their FB page earlier.

The repeater's pattern looks more like what WPKO actually sounds like than WPKO's pattern as shown on Radio Locator, especially heading toward Columbus where that signal drops off extremely quickly. Much better signal to the west and northwest, which I presume this repeater will have because the land flattens out.
I have never listened to WBLL at night, but I presume this repeater will cover some of the areas of Logan County (and beyond?) that the AM simply can't reach after dark. Wouldn't think 81 watts at night on 1390 gets more than a few miles before it gets clobbered by graveyard interference.
