It's been a pretty good rule of thumb over the last 50 years or so to never play "smoke and mirrors" for any radio station in regards to contests. It seems the FCC has a problem with that for some reason and the FCC certainly does not like contests that aren't clear.
WBLM's current contest either giving away or giving a chance at (big difference) a motorcycle tied into a contest with Twisted Tea certainly needs to have some clarity on WBLM's part.
It seems listeners have to qualify for a chance to roll five dice at a grand prize event. Fine. From one section of their website:
Grand Prize Event: The qualifier who rolls the dice and gets the word "T-W-I-S-T", wins a custom bike!!!
However in another section of their website (Blimp events) it says this:
One qualifier will win a Twisted Tea Custom Made Motorcycle!
WILL WIN? How will one qualifier be guaranteed to win?
Here's the best part of all:
Complete contest rules, tba.
HUH? They're currently in the middle of a contest and post on their web site that complete contest rules TO BE ANNOUNCED.
You just can't make this stuff up.
