Exactly, WBLS switching to Urban AC was a mistake. They can't
compete with (WRKS) 98.7 "Kiss FM". I never thought that Paul
Mooney was going to stay much longer. He is a funny & talented
comedian, however that 5 day a week 6-10am grind is not for
everyone. I tried to listen sometimes and he really seemed to
struggle with it. The skits were very corny. He was funny when he would
shoot from the hip and talk about things going on in the news.
WBLS really needs to get it together. A mix of R&B, Old School Hip Hop,
and Reggae with Classic New York Jocks behind the Mic would be great.
As well as legendary mix show DJ's working the turntables. I know
that I'm not the only person who has thought about this.
As far as the morning drive slot goes they need serious help. In the
past two years they had Doug Banks, Rick Party, & Paul Mooney. Now
the search continues
