WBMQ losing the Bulldogs

I'm surprised no thread has been made about this, but what about 630 WBMQ losing the Georgia football games to move to rim-shot 92.3 after they had been there for decades?

Now unless you have a good car radio in metro Savannah it will be tough to listen to the games on radio.

WBMQ is a waste of a station any more really. They have the Sandgnats, but few people listen to minor league baseball on the radio. They have Huckabee and Hannity and that's about it. No local news staff, no Facebook presence, no signal at night.

That signal could have been great for several formats, but instead Cumulus just runs their AMs (630, 900) out of a closet. Not a single local personality on either station except for the brokered shows on weekends.

Your thoughts?

That's Cumulus for you - automation, dropping signal at night, and generally just screwing the state of radio for several years now.

VERY surprised Cumulus didn't hold on to the Dawgs & move them to 102.1. Cumulus is convinced that 102.1 should be the flagship for GA Southern. I think more in the area care about the Bulldogs than the Eagles, but that's just me.

If 92.3 flipped to sports & went mono, the move there would be more palatable.

92.3 has been listed as the Bulldog affiliate in the Savannah market since some time this summer. Just about the only people among those interested who did not get the word, apparently, are the staff at the Savannah Morning news. I hate to see WBMQ drop the games for whatever reason. I cannot pick up 92.3 well where I am, and the Statesboro affiliates don't even break the static here, so to speak. There's an opportunity here for the station willing to seize it.

I did see where 92.3 was listed as the Bulldogs affiliate in last Saturday's Savannah Morning News, after they had been publishing inaccurate information for two weeks.
