WBNR - low low power??

A couple of days ago I first noticed a particularly weak signal from WBNR. I tuned in again today, and it's still quite weak... near Poughkeepsie I'm getting at least as good a signal on 1250 from WMTR in New Jersey (which interestingly played "Mack the Knife" at the same time as WBNR around 12:45pm today.) Also 1280 from WADO New York City is about equal with WBNR. In fact, WBNR's sister WLNA on 1420 sounds a lot better here now than WBNR. WBNR usually comes in quite well during the day, and notably better than WLNA. A rough calculation would indicate less than 5 watts from WBNR now! Very unusual, and not a great way to start the Fall Book. Anyone know what's going on? (Did a tower fall down?)
