Just saw on their Facebook page that WBNR and WLNA are going classic country on Monday...

Great! I love country music and I'm a huge fan, I'll have to check it out. I will record the first day of WBNR/WLNA as a classic country station and I will be posting it soon. I will check TuneIn and see what happens.

WBNR/WLNA has been carried "Hudson Valley's Talk Radio" since 2007, prior to that, they carried MOR/standards as ABC Stardust network during the 2000's. "Hudson Valley Talk Radio" has been carried on three stations like WBNR, WLNA and WGHQ since 2009, by the end of 2013, WGHQ was sold to another company and becomes part of Robin Hood Radio and WBNR/WLNA was hanging in there for another 3 months until this week, the station becomes Classic Country. Good move. WKIP only has a talk station where they brought in many of the former WBNR/WLNA listeners to the station. If

Just for an update, there is a link to this new site, check it out.

And by the way, I listened to this new format on WBNR/WLNA earlier today via TuneIn and they're now carrying "Real Country" from Cumulus Networks, the same company that did Scott Shannon's True Oldies Channel as still be heard on WEOK/WALL which is now part of Townsqaure since Cumulus took over back last Fall, and so does "Nash" which can be heard on other stations including WNSH at 94.7 in NYC last year and some syndicated programming like "Kickin' It With Kicks" and "American Country Countdown" with Kicks Brooks which is still being heard on "The Wolf" since is now of Townsquare except two syndicated shows are from Cumulus. As for the company itself, they usually owned the Poughkeepsie stations before Townsquare took over while the company owns WABC, WPLJ and WNSH as well which are all owned by Cumulus. WBNR/WLNA is still under Pamal, and "Real Country" is part of the Cumulus Networks, and Cumulus never owned WBNR/WLNA.

If you pay attention to this new format, HV has too many country stations in that area. How many stations that carries country right now. Look at WKXP/WZAD's "The Wolf", they play current country stuff along with a mixed bag of older songs from a couple of years ago when these songs are part of "Real Country" and WRWD, they're playing the same. This station at 1260 and 1420 AM is a waste. How many stations that carries the country format? The answer is 8. We've 94.3, 97.3, 107.3, 99.3, 106.9, 1230, 1260 and 1420. Those are wasted country stations in the HV listening area. Which comes first? The chicken, or the egg.

And like I said, I'm recording this aircheck right now, after this is done, I will be posting the first day of "Real Country" WBNR/WLNA later this week. To get that straight, WRWD has been playing country since 1989, WKXP/WZAD has been playing the same since 2003, and now we got WBNR/WLNA which is playing country as of now.

I like the station now,What would really be a lot of fun is if Pamal Broadcasting put WBNR/WLNA on a translator in Poughkeepsie.
That would piss off Townsquare and Clear Channel.
