WBNX 92.7 FM, Pine Knoll Shores, NC

I saw this station mentioned in another post. What's the story behind WBNK? Will they be signing on soon and with what format?

I checked them out on the FCC site. Allocation was originally for Ocracoke. I didn't recognize the licensees as current players in the market. Signal will come from the WFXI-TV tower at Open Grounds Farm and its proposed 60 dBu drops off before reaching the western portions of Carteret County.

If I come back across the ad I'll post the actual text, but it was advertised in The Daily Reflector over the weekend. It said something like "Brand new radio station built and ready to be signed on" and advertised the calls (WBNK 92.7 FM) and a bunch of towns/cities that would fall within the coverage area. New Bern was listed but unless it runs in mono I don't see it reaching there reliably.

They want $1.5 mil for it. I don't think they intend to sign it on with anything unless they can't sell it in enough time and have to. I question whether a station that nobody knows about, has never been on air, and has a pretty much useless coverage area is worth that much. Greenville's 94.3 went for a similar cost as a highly listened to radio station and covering more population.

Station is on the air as 92.7 Big Fish FM and is running CHRSN (Way FM Radio Network) which is Christian Top 40. I am picking it up in Williamston, NC. Can't get it in the house very well but can get it in the car and is very listenable. If anyone knows any info on it I would appreciate it. Thanks.
