I don't know whether their music library originated in-house or not, but I heard from someone who was there that they are now making their own additions and updates to it in-house, so I'm not sure if they created their format, or if they're doing their own tweaks to an outside package.
They do seem to try to provide something different than what is offered on WODS. It's interesting because there's a good amount of pre-'64 stuff that 'ODS used to play but dropped, then with the later 60's and the 70's they seem to be finding a lot of popular hits that are outside of WODS's overplayed core, then they occasionally may jump up to some AC track from the 80's or even the 90's.
Over fifteen years ago, WODS killed off any smaller standard playlist Oldies stations trying to operate within the shadow of their big signal. Stations like WBOQ and WATD in Marshfield, which is gold-based AC days and specialty oldies shows evenings, overnights and weekends, seem to know that they have to offer something different to Oldies fans.
