WBOS who's the PD of this station....?

Back to the ratings - you couldn't help but notice that 'PLM had opened up a substantial lead on WBOS in the Spring. Ouch. For a 50kW on the top of the Pru to get beaten by a South Shore stick is rough.

That's in the overall 12+. I haven't seen the further breakdowns lately, but isn't WPLM's audience MUCH older than WBOS's? I'd imagine that the average age of WPLM listeners is at least 20 years older than for WBOS. I'm sure that WBOS is still beating WPLM in the younger age demos that most advertisers are concerned about.

I know that WPLM has recently dropped most of the Adult Standards they had played for years and has added more contemporary music to try to bring their audience age down, but I doubt it has changed substantially yet.

Funny to read this, as i was just listening to WPLM moments ago. I hadn't heard "Words Get In The Way" by Gloria Estefan in YEARS !

Back to 'BOS, i remember they were "New Wave" for a few months under Maxanne Satori. Owners pulled the plug and went Country, but the monthly that came out right afterwards was the highest 'BOS had seen. I really try to listen to them now, but always end up nudging the dial just .4 Mhz to the left..
