WBOW-FM

Is it me or does this station need to buy a good mic! Why do so many companies drag their butts to spend some money to improve the product they are trying to sell?

They have more that just mic problems...Their other stations, Crock 92.7 seems to have STL problem and it appears that this has gone on for a while. This has also affected ESPN WSDX am 1130. Sure hope that get it fixed soon.

Don't expect much money to be spennt at Crossroads stations. They are the poster-child for bottom-feeder radio stations, most have sub standard move-in signals. I'd expect WBOW-FM to eventually be bought by Emmis or Mid America to add to the clusters. It is amazing that the Crock of ,,,,, has lasted as long as it has.

Had a good chuckle today when the jock on WBOW-FM teasted "the latest from Fall Out Boy" coming up. (I stuck around just long enough to be sure that she actually did play it.)

???

Crossroads puts on the front that the stations arent for sale, however its a known fact that they are. WBOW-A, WSDX-A, WBOW-F, WAXI-F and WSDM-F could fetch a pricetag in the mid 4's?

Emmis also hasnt "announced" it, however they also dont really need Terre Haute and they will most likely sell the market in the coming year or so.

A feasible buyer could come in and buy WBOW-A, WSDX-A, WBOW-F, WAXI-F, WSDM-F, WTHI-F and WWVR-F. They would have to spin off one FM signal, either to Midwest or K-Love. I would think WAXI because of its signal strength.

A great example of the need for good clean and practical processing... They've got the allocations, but lack the touch that puts you up there...

Seeing and hearing the obvious has never been a trait at Crossroads. Those who teach radio and TV should use them as an example on how not to run a radio station.

I guess I don't get it. Why is that funny?

Most AC stations don't play many currents, and I don't think of Fall Out Boy as an artist that would attract that many "AC women. (i.e. the demographic sought by AC stations")

First of all, WBOW is Hot AC. There is a major difference between AC and Hot AC. Programmers of many Hot AC's are programming them at a level just short of CHR. Secondly, I can see how a group like Fall Out Boy would attract the 35-year-old female that a Hot AC targets. The group Good Charlotte, which has a similar sound to Fall Out Boy, is #2 this week with "I Don't Wanna Be In Love" in Mediabase Callout among 25 to 34-year-old females.

I thought this post was about mic's...

Ok, they need processing. It would probably take a lot to sound as good as WTHI-FM. All it takes is money and know how right? But besides that why not improve the product and then improve the sound. From what I've seen in the 12+ numbers the B didn't look like they did very well, but has anyone seen the complete breakdown? If they are as poor as 12+ then it's ovious, something needs to change and before the next book. So my question for the B is, what are you going to do about it? Are you happy with what you now have?

Wow! Had a chance to listen this morning and they have changed their format to more AC. Playing more songs from the 80's and 90's. Anyone know anything?

Doesn't sound too different to me ... that's why I thought Fallout Boy sounded so out of place at Christmas time. I listened again for about an hour yesterday during Julie's show and didn't notice anything out of place. Then again, it's just one hour. I thought Julie sounded good. Not up to Diane House level yet.

Most Hot AC's are playing songs from the 80's and 90's. Find other Hot AC stations that stream and listen. My Hot AC station is based on 80's gold.

I'm not a programer, I've just noticed that they were playing more variety with the 80's & 90's. I did hear Knock On Wood by Amii Stewart, The Knack's My Sharona. Both songs here were from 1979. But I also did hear Fergie's Clumbsy and Madonna's Ray of Light. On that same note I haven't heard Finger Eleven's Paralyzer lately. Used to work at the station many years ago back in old days of Power 103 and I have many found memories. Most of my listening is by audio streaming, but when I get to Terre Haute I have to listen for old time sake. That place has so much potential and I'd like to see them do well.
