WBPM Repetitious?

I haven't checked their What's Played files, but I have vibes that they repeat the same selections more frequently than they use to. How many time do you expect to hear "I'm Your Captain", or "Sister Christian" in one week? And I only get to listen for 1-2 hours a day at most. Anyone else with similar thoughts?

I had not really noticed WBPM becoming more repetitious . Then again I don’t listen to them as often as I used to . It seems that they have dropped some of the off beat stuff I used to hear on 92.9 . I also noticed that they have modified their liners a bit . While still calling themselves Classic Hits 92.9 , WBPM says they play the greatest rock hits, dropping the pop hits reference(which they never actually played).

That's what I said about it all the time. WBPM isn't "Classic Hits" anymore, they're calling themselves a classic rock station and they are going to go after WPDH, look what happened to 101.5, they did a good job with Cooper & Tobin, and as for the Electric Morning Show, I guess it should belong on WPDH if Jack & Andre will not getting it's act together. If not, maybe they will move to WPDH and get a better morning show.

WBPM as I saying in previous threads is playing a heavy rotation of classic and alternative rock cuts. I checked the playlist that Alantis Morrisette was on that station, but what about Blues Traveler's "Runaround"? Does it belong on WBPM?

If 92.9 does not going to play anymore pop songs and if they could go to a classic rock format, they will drop it's "Classic Hits" moniker and call it "Classic Rock 92.9", or maybe this weekend, November 1st will be the 10-year anniversary of 92.9 when it finally signed on the air as WRKW.

I don't think WBPM is repetitious, I just think they play allot of songs that are really bad.I think they need to focus the music more.Whoever the Music Director is over there really doesn't know what he or she is doing. They need to bring in someone with some experience. As far as the morning show, I listen to The Electric Morning Show from time to time, and Jack and Andre are true radio pros. The chemistry between the two are amazing, and I would really like to hear them on a bigger signal in the near future. I think your right Disney, I think Jack and Andre would be awesome on WPDH. It would bring that station back to life and bring back the real comedy and true laughs like the old days. Also I just found out Jack and Andre have a TV show on cable 6. So I guess that just proves my point. You don't give people TV shows who aren't pros.

I hope WBPM can get there act together and be half as good as their morning show is.Time will tell.I'm sure Jack and Andre's phone will be ringing soon with an offer from Pendel Road. What do you think Disney, am I on the mark with this one?

Way to go Randy.....the 100 watt repeater blasting Scott Shannon's true oldies channel makes your live broadcast sound terrible- not that it needed any help...I'm all for live and local programming, but it's really bad when u can't do better than sattellite feed....

give it up

I do agree with that! "Scott Shannon's True Oldies Channel" which is a fixture on 95.7 to carry Fishkill and Poughkeepsie, but it is barely listenable in Kingston and Saugerties in which you cannot hear the station so good. I hope Kingston needs another translator for 95.7 is put a repeater next to the WGHQ and WKXP transmitters and then maybe they will get "True Oldies Channel" on 95.7 if they can bring listeners for an oldies station that you don't hear on "Cool 92.9" anymore.

And yes, WBPM does sound a lot like CBS-FM's "Jack" format on 101.1 which would be the new "Jack". Maybe they should bring Howard Colgan in and fire Randy Turnip and maybe WBPM will not be "Classic Hits" anymore. It will be "92.9 Jack-FM - Playing What We Want". Good idea!
