WBPM Sounds A Lot Better Now

Let me get things straight! "Classic Hits 92.9" sounds a lot better now. It plays nothing but rock & pop songs from the 60's through the 80's. No Motown, no classic R&B that you don't hear on that station. This is just rock & pop and it plays a lot of my favorites like Bob Dylan, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Cyndi Lauper, the Beatls, Elton John, the Beach Boys, the Monkees and many others. WBPM does not play the Four Tops, the Temptations, the Supremes, Stevie Wonder and other Motown artists that WBPM does not play anymore. I should listen to WGNY for that kind of oldies.

Every Saturday night, I enjoyed the "Music Blimp" where they play a lot of classic 80's new wave and alternative rock songs that you don't hear like WDST and WPDH. And on Sunday's, they have the "Rockin' 80's" with Zander where they play Metallica, Bon Jovi, the Sex Pistols and others.

I guess that this station sounds better than WDPH. I guess that maybe someday, WBPM will soon to be #1 in the Dutchess book and it will beat WDPH in the ratings. Will the Spring book comes in, find out and see. ::)

WOW. Don't bet all of your pennies on that.

I was always hoping for one station where I could get my Cyndi Lauper/Metallica fix.
And now I've found it. Watch out PDH, who cares about Led Zeppelin when you can hear
Aldo Nova into Suzanne Vega. With that kind of mass appeal, #1 in no time!

As I said previously- lets let the spring book do the talkin'...
as bad as 'PDH is, it's tough to knock it off the pedestal.....

Heres my issue with BPM...I'm still hearing 'The Beach Boys' every now and then and to me that just doesn't belong with the rock stuff they're playing. They probably are trying not to lose that last couple of boomers who are still clinging on for dear life.

The other thing is the quality os not consistent. One day you can pick it up great and the next it's full of noise.

As usual, Disney stretches the space/time continuum with only his thoughts. :p

Where are you listening to WBPM? I live in Hyde Park but work out in the eastern Duchess county town of Millerton. Of the Poughkeepsie / Kingston based stations 92.9 WBPM and 94.3 WKXP come in the best, in eastern Duchess County; however even with them the terrain plays havoc with the signal, especially when it is warm. They are getting interference from and at times are overridden by 92.9 WHEM in Southampton NY on the eastern end of Long Island. I e-mailed WBPM station management about this station 115 miles away interfering with WBPM. He said although the area is just outside their protected zone the terrain and atmospheric conditions cause the distant station to do this and there is not much they can do about it. The same thing happens with WHEM’s simulcast sister station WEHN 96.9 interfering with Poughkeepsie’s 96.9 WRRB.

WKXP the WOLF is theeee WORST Radio Station In the HISTORY of Hudson Valley Radio - They were alot better when they were Kicks943 - They should have kept Mark Mitchell, he was solid on there, alot better then Beth "Bore Me" Christy

But WVOS in Sullivan County DOES - They are almost the same format since they play 60's 70's and 80's termed they are "The Greatest Hits Of All Time" - So if you are looking for that, 95.9 or time warner cable 684

WVOS sounds great. Head and shoulders above WBPM, IMHO.
