WBPS 1040

Anyone have the program specifics on 1040 WPBS, Conyers? When I was in the area two weeks ago, it almost sounder Korean and satellite or Internet streaming network feed. Hardly ever any TOH ID's. Older sources show it broadcast(ed) in subcontinental Asian (Indian) languages but it sure sounded Korean to me. Thanks.

Whatever language it is, tune in weekday afternoons after 5 and hear a bizarre mix of 70s pop. I've been calling it the Wolfman Patel show since he sounds Indian.

Nope it's Korean..and I didn't hear Wolfman Patel..but I did hear Journey "Faithfully" followed by..(gulp) "Jambalya" by Hank Sr.

WHEW that is some kind of ecclectic..what the heck is going on there? Are they 50kw yet?

Did Jack Weber buy it? That would 'splain it.

Thanks, Jeff and everyone else; I IDed the language correctly. One Sunday when I was listening, they were airing an English lesson using Don McLean's Stary, Stary Night. They would play a verse, freeze it, read the lyrics in Korean and English and continue. A rather odd listen. Their signal was fine south of Newfound Gap in the GSMNP. North of Newfound peaks, the Knoxville-area station dominated. If it's still 50 DA it wouldn't surprise me.
