WBQW - WSCR

I am asking every one out there who worked at WBQW - WSCR if they have any photos and airchecks from when they worked there.

Never worked there but I have some music surveys from WSCR. If interested, e mail me.

I was there from 1989 to 1991. I have copies of a few old jingles from WSCR and the Q. As part of an agreement to clean up the basement back then, I was able to get my hands on the old WSCR "Now On the Air" Sign. I think I may even have a few carts somewhere. However, those (I think ;D) are still in my parent's basement. The only airchecks I would have are from my days with the Christian format. Paul Trama may have some airchecks of the 13Q and WSCR oldies days.

And then there were the hundreds (thousand's ??) of Frantic Freddie albums.

Freddie Mylander! What ever happened to that guy?

Many, many years ago, Freddie and his band(remember?)were playing a high school dance in Scranton. Someone in the crowd threw one of those little footballs, the hard plastic type, at Freddie and nailed him right upside the head. He was POed, justifiably so, and demanded to know who did it. I was standing next to the guy who had, who just smiled and looked at me. Freddie proceeded to shut it down. He folded the band and they walked out.

I seem to call Frantic Freddie doing a lot of WSCR remotes at Rocky Glen. Those were the days when the "homework" jock, the guy who did 7-midnight, was often the second most popular talent on any given station, right behind the AM drive guy.

Yep. From what I was told, they couldn't give them away. They even started giving them away as frisbees in the Q days... They were done through Tom Rice's own label...RCI Records. The only remaining copy I know of was up at WICK. I gave a sealed copy of the album to Doug Lane back when WICK was playing local artists. Many of those records were still sealed. Can't remember where the rest went.... probably buried under the Gress driveway now.
