WBRA - tv PBS

I see that wbra-tv (PBS) has applied for a new digital channel UHF 26, it sounds like present channel VHF 3 is hard to pick up and people have been complaining. Hope they get it...

It's a "backup application" as they call it. They applied for it "just in case" the million dollars they spend on a new channel 3 antenna doesn't fix things for them (it won't). Channel 26 is a horrible channel too, as it's way too close to WRLH-DT in Richmond. I filed comments to that effect.

Channels 16 or 35 are superior.

Just recently I have been getting WBRA-tv in digital HD and all their sub channels on my set up? What happened did they boost their power or change their HD channel allocation? Great shows the World is a great PBS addition.

A rep from BRPTV told me a month or so ago that they would upgrade the digital signal on channel 3 in three weeks. I guess they've upgraded it since.

Yeah, they replaced their antenna and might have finally fixed the SNR coming out of their transmitter. I'll find out when I get home just how much better it actually is--the day after the new antenna went up it was no better, but I heard positive reports a while later.
