WBRF-FM responded to its listeners

I saw that. I guess that will put to rest all the blah blah blah about them going oldies!!!

I got a feeling the revolt came from within, and not from listeners. Regardless, it is what it is. My question for the peanut gallery: How will WBRF recycle newer listeners playing hank snow? (I heard he's opening for Taylor Swift)

Yes, they have resppnded to their listeners!!! And yes, they are all-Country Oldies! They have reversed almost EVERY move that former director of operation Tom Collins made!!! Collins took over in mid-August of last year. He made MANY unpopular changes to the station. By late Noevember. he was "relieved" of his "D.O.O." title and made to do various promotions tasks around the station. He left WBRF in early feburary of this year!!! The station sounds ALOT better now since they restored the "old" WBRF!!!

WBRF-FM 98.1 has been getting ALOT of positive press lately from WXOO-TV 12, Winston-Salem Journal, etc...

When did channel 12 change calls again? I know they were once WSJS-TV.

  These threads on this Ral-GSO forum have gotten completely "silly and useless" It seems people could utilize their energy to come up with something constructive rather than just posting to see their name in "print".. I'll be back when there is something worthwhile to comment on..Meanwhile, I'm off to the Orlando and Charlotte Boards.. BIGAPE

Have fun "Children"!

WBRF does sound good. When I get to listen, which isn't often given the hip-hop and other mess on 97.9 and 98.1 around here, they play a lot of songs I never heard before, even on WIST.

My only complaint would be too many commercials, but that means they're doing well financially--right?

I think they're playing songs that are too obscure. I mean, that's OK, when they're in between big hits, but you get too much of that odd-ball stuff and people are going to tune out. I think their base is just thrilled to have them go back the way they were before Tom got there.
