WBRF is now oldies!

Well, my prediction DID come true!!!! Tom Collins took WBRF-FM 98.1 Oldies, not Rock and Pop Oldies, but Country Oldies! We still need a good regular pop Oldies station, but he did take WBRF OLDIES-Most say that he would not- they are proved WRONG again!!!-Ha-Ha!!

The station is sounding better I will give them that. Most of the garbage went out the door. However they did keep "Aunt Eloise" so there is still some left...

Good god....you found a loophole in your prediction. So what? It still doesn't take away from TC being an idiot!

So it's official that Wilbur is at 98.1? And he "took" them to Country "Oldies"? What a joke! For as long as I've heard that station they've been Country "Oldies".

The only thing that will happen if he actually does end up at that station is all of their quality employees will go away one-by-one. What a shame for one of the last, true local stations left.

He should just get on Mr. Bo Diddley and ride off into the sunset.

Other than here, I've never really heard that TC was employed anywhere since Majic 94.1. Does anyone know if this bozo actually has a job??? If so, and you work for him, RUN!

What an absolute shame. It'll be a slow death...but it will be a death for sure. So long 98.1.

I totally agree, listening to WBRF Tuesday it seemed a lot of the down home delivery was gone. the music mix did not sound very good to me. very sad. the jingles sounded very much like WSM's though. On the other hand, 550 AM out of Statesville's classic country mix with personality sounded great to me. Songs from "May the Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose" to "I'm Not Lisa" by Jessie Coulter were refreshing in my opinion.

There were a lot of new songs, many of which I didn't like. The station was never described anywhere as "classic country" or anything other than "country".

When I was listening Sunday before NASCAR started all the songs were Christian or had some inspirational message. They had a good sound for the most part. One was by Webb Pierce, asking what would happen if Jesus came to stay with you. Would you have to replace your dirty magazines with the Bible? Would you be relieved when he was ready to go?
