WBRU

NBC 10, here in RI, reported on the sale of WBRU this morning. I can't find anything on the NBC 10 website though. Aside from what has been posted here, has anyone heard anything else about this.

Is it possible they are just flipping. (along with every other radio station it seems)
Edited by live4radio on 03/30/06 06:29 PM.

WJAR-TV reported on RUMORS

WJAR did a story on tonight's (Thursday night) 11:00 p.m. newscast (it was their lead story). They simply reported on RUMORS printed in Motif Magazine. The Motif Magazine story link was provided in an earlier thread on here. WJAR must read this site! Anyway, the only thing WJAR did was get interviews from Brown University students on their reaction to a RUMORED sale/format change. Motif Magazine "confirmed" RUMORS. Motif Magazine did not confirm the TRUTH. WJAR reported on RUMORS. Neither Motif Magazine or WJAR reported on the TRUTH. There is a difference between confirming rumors and confirming the truth. WJAR reported in their story they were unable to get any information from WBRU management concerning this sale and/or format change. Therefore, Channel 10 reported hearsay and not the truth. Another reason to Turn Away From 10.

Re: WJAR-TV reported on RUMORS

If it is a prank, WJAR-TV gets egg on their faces again. Did any other Providence television news outlet give any air time to the "story"??

WPRI was going to air the story last night also, but they changed their minds. Actually, I highly suggested they not air the story, because this sale/format change is a RUMOR (as of now). I felt we would be in the wrong if we aired a story based on RUMOR and not TRUTH. So far, WJAR is the only TV station to do the story. WJAR constantly gets egg on their faces, so if it happens again, it's nothing new. I'm not sure if WLNE has touched this story yet.
