WBSL is way off

Meaning if you try to pick up 1190 WAMT out on the fringe, you might be getting a nice 150 Hz hum. Ewww.

FYI, BSL is located in the Mississippi county hardest-hit by Katrina, Hancock County. It was night the last time I drove by the site, but all I remember seeing was flattened landscape. Most of the county still looks like the day after the storm. It's bad.

I suspect 1190 is operating on a longwire with some lashup of a transmitter. I know some folks over there and may stop by this week to see if we can get them on the straight-and-narrow.

Been hearing WBSL, Bay St. Louis for a couple of weeks now -- way down here in coastal Clearwater, FL -- on 1189.85.

Terry, how are you measuring that? And if they really are that far off, why not give 'em call. "Hey, what are you boys up too??......"

Doug..."thy shall approach no problem in the most direct way, lest it indicate a since of urgency"....Thanks JBI.....the quote is from a former teacher...

When I was in Biloxi back in january, February and March of 2005 they were definately off the air, even though a call to the station claimed they were on the air.

Their entire building was completely demolished and had been wiped away. I do beleive the tower was gone too, the only thing that was left standing was a few satelitte dishes. However, in the pictures I used to have.. you could tell exactly where the building had been.

Ironically, sitting at the end of their driveway...... was their Harris 5000 Watt Transmitter all water logged.. was probably slavageable, but just left there for junk.
