WBSL

Who's the current owner of WBSL? I heard it got sold. The signal pattern looks like it will reach here clearly during the day (I'm in Ft Walton Beach, FL)

Are you referring to 1190 in Bay St Louis? Current call sign is WMEJ and I've been hearing it here in Fairhope/Mobile bcstg in Espanol. The salt-water ground conductivity does allow this station to go far & wide.

I worked there in 1991, and we did indeed reach as far as Fort Walton Beach... that's as far east as I ever drove. And we had a great signal over New Orleans.... And one night we forgot to power down at sundown, and two weeks later had a QSL request from somewhere in Canada... oh and some station on 1190 in KC along with Ft. Wayne's WOWO were not to thrilled with our mistake....
