Legacy Charlotte radio station 11.10-WBT is now celebrating 95 years on the air. Formerly owned by CBS and Jefferson-Pilot, it was recently acquired by Entercom. And has sister radio stations 99.3FM, and 107.9FM-WLNK. Formerly co-owned with WBTV Channel 3 television station, in the same building One Julian Price Place. Famous personalities included Grady Cole, Henry Boggan, Al Gardner, and John Hancock.

As part of the 95th anniversary commemoration, a major announcement is scheduled for 5:05pm today. Stay tuned.

WOW!! John Hancock, huh??! Too bad WBT wasn't around to do a live broadcast of the signing of the Declaration of Independence......!!!;)
Then again....probably not enough receivers in the marketplace at the time.....
On my way home from work in the '70s I used to listen to the Trucker's Show....can't remember the announcer, but he played some GREAT tunes and always provided weather forecasts for various regions of the country....
CONGRATS to WBT!! Here's to MANY MORE YEARS of success!!!:)

John Hancock, "Hello Henry" Boggan, and "Rockin Ray" Gooding were inducted into the WBT Hall of Fame. Henry was my favorite WBT host back in the 80's and 90's.

WBT morning talk show hosted by Scott Fitzgerald is broadcasting live from here in Greenville, SC this morning covering the big Eclipse. Perhaps using technical assistance from local Entercom facilities here in Greenville. Listening live on WLNK-107.9HD2 with rabbit ears antenna. I can also get 99.3, but usually listen on the WLNK subchannel. But drive down the street in the car, and local interference starts to wipe them out on both channels.
